Today kicks off an event we’re thrilled to be part of–SURGE Spring, a free virtual summit for association professionals put on by our friends at AssociationSuccess.org. In their own words, “SURGE is a free interactive virtual summit assembling association professionals from around the world to have productive conversations around innovation & change.” As the pre-recorded video sessions play, a chat runs simultaneously, enabling attendees to interact with each other and to ask questions of the speakers.
We’re super excited to sponsor the co-creation session and to have been a creative resource for SURGE. It’s been amazing to have gotten to “peek behind the curtain” while Arianna Rehak and her team pulled together this event, and see so many association pros actively engaged in making it a truly collaborative experience.
One of the best parts of partnering with SURGE has been working with their team to orchestrate the pitch competition. The SURGE team reached out to the association community to ask people to film themselves presenting a 30-second pitch covering an idea for a session they’d like to run at the next SURGE virtual event in November. The finalists’ pitches are up now–check them out and vote for your favorite (you’ll first need to register–but it’s free.) I personally am partial to my cat, Truly Scrumptious’ wink/pitch…but that’s just me : )
At 5:00 Films & Media, we’re passionate about helping associations find the right solutions to their communications challenges and figuring out the best way to bring their stories to life. The pitch competition really embodies the spirit of what we do: help organizations create bridges between ideas and people.
We’ve been in the video production business for almost 15 years and have helped hundreds of nonprofits and associations engage members and supporters in innovative ways–including video co-creation. Last week’s Associations Now highlighted how we helped our friends at the National Confectioners Association use co-created video at their annual conference (our own Tim Parsons will be co-presenting a session about it at ASAE Annual). We also helped SeaPerch, a robotics competition, use video co-creation to help capture the scale and authenticity of students from across the country sharing their experiences with the event (we were pretty proud to win a Gold MarCom award for that one).
Feel free to reach out to us if you want to chat about co-creation, using video to tell your association’s story…or even just to say hi!
In the meantime, we hope to see you over at SURGE Spring.
